Fallen Earth is a Role Playing MMO Game set on a post apocalyptic Earth in the year 2156.
The Fall (the story): - „We know it started in Asia, somewhere in India or Pakistan. A bunch of locals came down with some sort of virus that killed just about everyone who came into contact with it. Unfortunately, during the early stages, the virus was highly contagious and the infection was all but undetectable, so it spread fast, and got named the Shiva Virus. Then the nukes started going off. within a few days, a good chunk of Southern Asia was irradiated wasteland. A couple of invasions and some more nukes later, and the whole world pretty much got screwed. The beginning of the Fall is somewhat up for debate, but 2055 is the most common year cited. By the time the virus actually reached North America in 2056, war had broken out on the east coast between the United States Government and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, (which was supported by the United States military). By most accounts, the Fall was over by 2062, around the time of the death of the last President of the United States. At that point, every human being was locked away in some sealed bunker, an immune carrier of the Shiva Virus, or dead. It’s estimated that less than one out of one-hundred people survived the Fall, and even that sounds generous. Around here, we had some additional problems, seeing as how a few nukes had hit the region and a lot of the old Rothium kegs were busted, when rainwater got in them, they just spewed radioactive nanites and it does a good job of keeping people from reaching the outside world. There’re all sorts of nasty critters and radioactive storms just outside the Province.”
The character creation is nothing special, no sliders or advanced tweaking tools here. Players are able to make all the standard choices such as face, hair style, height and clothing, you can also use the accessories available with the ability to apply tattoos, piercings and face paint.
Combat in Fallen Earth is in a first-person shooter format, camera can be moved to alternate between third and first person modes but the first person perspective is the best choice, you will need to manually keep their targets in a targeting reticle to actually hit them in combat. Skills can be used to influence combat in different ways, but again, enemies must still be manually targeted. While it feels a lot like the standard timed combat that you see in most older MMOs, ranged combat does require you to shoot at your target directly, and to hit them. It's quite possible to miss if an enemy is moving, and the same goes for melee, in which you swing in real time, with damage being calculated by your skills and the weapon you choose to use. This makes Fallen Earth a little more engaging to play than a batch of other MMOs.
In Fallen Earth you are not bound to one class, and developed according to your group and your Mutationspfad. In addition, you choose yourself about your skills and abilities. The crafting system plays an important role in Fallen Earth is extensive and comprehensive exactly as crafting system it should be.
It is definitely a good recommendation for all players but I might add the disappointment that this game was not free to play the first time it come out as it is now, more confidence in Free Games from the manufacturers and the publisher would have brought greater popularity to the game from the first moment of its existence, it's like he miss the start and now is trying to catch up.
